Here are a couple before and current pictures of my CB750. Still a ways to go, but I think I’m heading in the right direction.

I wasn’t satisfied with the mounting options I had for the light bracket so I ended up molding it into the tail section. Pretty neat.

Finished the tail light for my CB750 tonight. Used an old pipe union I found in the barn, a two contact bulb socket, and a trimmed down trailer replacement lens that I bought from an auto parts store. Total investment, less than $5…….. plus it really compliments the industrial look of the bike.
Now, for the tag bracket :)

Found this on the ceiling of my office this morning.

Had a good ride this Sunday with a few like minded vintage bike enthusiasts.

My Enfield was getting jealous of all the attention I’ve been giving to the Cb160 lately. To make up for it, I replaced her bulky muffler with a slim, sexy Emgo Dunstall Replica. Much better sound…. It has a good sounding deep idle, yet I can still ease in and out of the neighborhood without waking too many people.  (That is, if I don’t give her too much throttle, anything above half and she starts to howl  :)

Oh, the heat shield is coming, just gotta go by Primitive Cycle and pick it up.

Had a go with electrolysis a few days ago…worked really well. Can’t wait to try it on some other parts.

Trying out the electrolysis method of rust removal. Using a mixture of water and sodium carbonate and a coat hanger for the sacrificial anode. Interested in seeing if this works well.

Anyone run into this before?

Okay, I need a bit of advice from my Tumblr followers, I know quite a few of you build some terrific bikes, maybe you’ve ran into this. This is a pic of the inside of my tank, bear in mind I’ve already flushed it out with muriatic acid once and let it sit in Evapo-Rust for 24hrs. As you can tell from the pic, part of the tank looks brand new while other parts have these really heavy deposits (I rotated the tank during the cleaning process to ensure even coverage). My question is does anyone have any other cleaning remedies?  If I can’t get it clean will Red Kote tank sealer work on a tank in that bad of shape?

Thanks, mikey

Finished de-tabbing and smoothing out the frame. Used a self etching primer to protect what I’ve done so far. Still have quite a few little places to touch up but all in all I’m very happy with outcome.

Removed the battery box last night. I was in the process of welding up the tool box mounting holes in the support tube when the power went off. It stayed off from 7pm to 3am, needless to say I didn’t get much accomplished after 7pm.

P.S. -I’m really falling in love with the lines of this frame…..just look at the curve on the center support tube. Beautiful!

Got straight to work on her tonight. She needs a lot of TLC, but I see a lot of potential as well.
